Giraffe
This sculpture began it's life as an old Victorian mangle. Once the heavy steel rollers were removed, it became the perfect base for an animal sculpture, due to the four rusted legs. After several steel exhaust pipe boxes fell off various cars, they were gathered from the streets and welded together. It became obvious to me that a giraffe was emerging. The mane was created after individually welding dozens of old broken nails and screws to the back of the neck. The finished sculpture was 7 ft. high (2.14m).
